What is Tretizen Soft Capsule?
This capsule contains Isotretinoin as its active drug. Isotretinoin or 13 cis retinoic acid is an orally administered retinoid. It is mainly used for cases of severe acne that are showing no response when treated with other medications or therapies. Nodular acne and cystic acne are the commonly occurring forms of severe acne.
They cause big, deep, and painful cysts or nodules on the skin. These forms of acne can occur independently or both symptoms may be present together. This condition is known as nodulocystic acne. Severe acne is quite difficult to treat. It can cause scarring if it is left untreated.
How Does Tretizen Soft Capsule Treat Acne?
Isotretinoin reduces the oil secreted by the pores present in the skin. Isotretinoin does not have any antimicrobial action of its own. However, since the oil production is decreased, this will prevent the development of clogged pores and prevent the colonization of the sebum and the pores by bacteria. It also reduces the appearance of papules and pustules which develop on the skin.
Isotretinoin is also known to change the characteristics of the sebum secreted by the skin. It also prevents the skin from hardening abnormally.
Directions for Use
Tretizen Soft Capsule is supposed to be taken orally. The capsule is to be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not puncture or try to chew it. It is generally recommended to take it with food.
