Isentress 400 Mg Composition

Each tablet of Isentress 400 Mg contains 400 Mg of raltegravir as potassium. Each tablet contains 26.06 Mg lactose monohydrate.

How does Isentress 400 Mg work?

Isentress 400Mg Tablet is an antiviral drug that works by inhibiting the multiplication of HIV in human cells.  In this way, it prevents HIV from producing a new virus. This drug works by targeting integrase, which is an HIV enzyme that attaches the viral genetic component to human chromosomes and is an important process in the pathogenesis of HIV. The drug is metabolized through glucuronidation.

How to take Isentress 400 Mg?

For best results, before taking Isentress 400 Mg read the prescription provided by your doctor and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Take this medication as directed by your doctor with a meal and usually once or twice a day.

The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medicines you may be taking. Tell your doctor about all the products you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products. You are instructed to swallow this medicine whole. However, many similar medicines can be divided and crushed.  Follow the instructions given by your doctor on how to use this medicine.

Dosage of Isentress 400 Mg

Isentress 400Mg tablet is available as 400 Mg film-coated tablet, 25 Mg and 100 Mg chewable tablet, 100 Mg single-use packet for oral suspension. It is recommended to take Isentress 400 Mg twice a day to maintain the amount of drug in your body. If it is being taken twice a day, then it should be taken at an interval of 12 hours. If vomiting occurs after taking this tablet, then another dose can be taken after consulting the doctor. There is no effect of food in taking this medicine, it can be taken without food also.

What should I do if Skip a dose?

If you miss a dose of Isentress, take it as soon as you remember and never take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Taking a double dose can cause side effects, and harm your health. Never take more doses without a doctor’s advice and never stop taking medicine without a doctor’s advice.
