Furamist Nasal Spray 27.5 Mcg composition

All sprays of Furamist contain fluticasone furoate 27.5 Mcg. Fluticasone furoate is a manufactured Trifluorinated corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory movement. The exact mechanism by which fluticasone furoate affects the symptoms of rhinitis is not known.

Corticosteroids have been shown to have a wide range of actions on many cell types involved in inflammation, such as mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, lymphocytes, and mediators such as histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, cytokines, and others.

Uses of Furamist Nasal Spray 27.5 Mcg

It is used to reduce symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis with inflammation of the lining of the nose, such as stuffy nose, itching, and sneezing. Its main ingredient, Fluticasone furoate , inhibits the release of inflammatory substances in the body and as a nasal spray of inhalers improves breathing in patients suffering from nasal blockage, sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does Furamist Nasal Spray 27.5 Mcg work?

The Fluticasone present in it begins its action by blocking certain natural substances in the body that cause inflammation and allergies in our body and this reduces itching, redness, swelling. This medication is a synthetic corticosteroid which binds with high affinity to the glucocorticoid receptor.

It also acts to inhibit cytosolic phospholipase A2, which helps control the biosynthesis of potent inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation.

How to take Furamist Nasal Spray 27.5 Mcg?

Use exactly as your healthcare provider has told you to use it.  The healthcare provider will tell you how much to use and when to use it.  Shake it lightly before using it.

Remove the plastic dust cap from the spray’s pump tip.  Hold the bottle upright with two fingers on the shoulders of its pump unit and your thumb on the bottom of the bottle.  Press upward with your thumb and release for pumping action.

For each spray, press down firmly on the pump and tilt your head down while inhaling slowly through your nostrils.  When you’re done using it, wipe the tip with a clean tissue or cloth.  Put the dust cap back on the spray pump end of the bottle.

The medicine is for use in the nose only and is not to be used in your eyes or mouth.  If it gets into your eyes, rinse your eyes with plenty of water for 10 minutes and consult your doctor.

Dosage

The recommended starting dose of Furamist Nasal Spray 27.5 Mcg is two sprays in adults. If there is a benefit from its regular use, then it can also be reduced. Children should take the starting dose of 27.5 mcg once a day.  Its dosage can be increased or decreased by the doctor and used exactly as directed by your doctor.

What should I do if Skip a dose?

If you forget to apply your Furamist Nasal Spray, use it as soon as you remember. If it’s close to the time you’re supposed to use it next, wait until this time. Never use extra to make up for the missed dose, as it can lead to side effects.

If you have been using Furamist regularly, be sure to talk to your doctor before stopping using it as your condition may get worse if you stop suddenly

Special warnings
